So I had to do the BlackRa1n jb all over again. The solution to the WB install was to press the home button instead of the Cydia reboot prompt and shutting down/restarting with the power button. Later on, I read that the problem came from the "restore from backup" that I did for my contacts and data, etc. Someone also posted that you should set up as new iPhone first, and then restore from backup. Is this correct? Will I have to bypass the reboot prompt from Cydia and use the power button shutdown/restart method anytime I install a Cydia app? YouTube app doesn't connect at the moment but everything else appears OK. Also, I bootneutered, though I'm not sure if it was necessary. Thanks in advance.

The Apple logo showed up for 15-20 seconds and then disappeared. hitting the home button does nothing. I can press and hold the power button and the logo will come back,then go away after 15-20 seconds?

I recently jailbroke my itouch OS 3.1.2 8gb with blackra1n successfully, and figured out cydia and the apps and stuff.

Now that everything is perfect, I want a back it all up. I want to be able to, in the future, be able to restore my itouch to the exact state it is right now (or at least with all the apps and themes)

I have OpenSSH installed (I changed the password of course!) and am wondering if there's anything I can do to back it up.

This may be a stupid question, but I keep hearing people say to make sure to have done a fresh "restore" to FW 3.1.2 first before using blackra1n.

My question is that I have two options when plugged in to iTunes. One being "update" to 3.1.2 and the one below that being restore. I keep reading to "restore," so I just want to be clear. Should actually "restore" first and then update to 3.1.2 or will just clicking "update" restore the device while it also updates?

I already manage to upgrade my 3gs using itunes to 3.1.2 then i use the blackrain software to jailbrake and want to unlock my phones.

However when i click make it rain it shows status then suddenly my phone screen goes into black screen no logo coming from out of it.

After quit some time i decided to disconnect

Trying the DFU home button and on button at the same time for a long time and nothing works

Right now the phone cannot be detected at all , also try irecovery and cannot manage to get it detected.

I'm lost of hope now hope someone can help

Have i bricked my 3gs? Anyway to recover it?

I used to run 3.0.1 with Cydia
