Freezing and having to hard reset +22 times a day

Hi, please please forgive me if this is covered elsewhere as I did a search but it was overwhelming.

I have a Iphone 3G, iOS 4.2.1, Cydia 1.1.3 that whether using it or not will stop responding, show a little spinning icon in the middle of the screen and ether kill the battery or I have to hold down the home and top button till it turns off and turn it back on. I have notifications turned off and everything from the general/restrictions turned on so as to limit myself greatly and I am pretty sure I have everything set to update manually. another thing that is odd is that if left alone I will come back to it and will see my lock screen up and that spinning icon in the middle of the screen.

The packages I have installed on cydia via simple mode are:
bigboss icon set
cydia installer
cydia translations
essential
mobile substrate
saurik's source
substrate safe mode
ultrasn0w

I did have, but removed:
activator
backgrounder
winterboards (with one theme)
and some bootlogo tools that I cant recall.

Currently I also do not have a Sim card in the Iphone as I cant rely on it in its current state.

any insight, or inquiry would be so encouraging,

Very simple don't jailbreak all your problems will be solved

Simple.........restore...................Setup as new...........Do not restore from backup....DO NOT USE CORONA.....Run redsn0w beta 3............................................Insta ll Mobile Substrate first...by itself with nothing else.....................
