When I got my iPod Touch 4G it was 4.2.1 version and I jailbroke the phone with Winterboard? Can't remember for sure. Anyway, I hadn't ran Cydia for awhile. This morning I ran Cydia and it went through some package updates and then it told me I had 20 programs needing to be updated.
I launched the update and when it got down to biteSMS it hung 1/4 of the way through. Was unable to use the home button or do anything. I power cycled the iPod and it came up fine and the regular apps seem to work, but when I enter Cydia now, I get an empty screen...the normal stuff on top, i.e. iPod, wireless strength, date, time, etc, but the blue bar below that is empty as is the rest of the screen.
I saw the warning about not trying to upgrade to iOS 5 as it is only tethered, and that I could upgrade to 4.3.3 untethered, but now I am stuck and can't seem to use Cydia at all?
Suggestions please.
Also, if I try to swipe the top of the screen to bring up the background program, it gives me a warning to not do that as it is installing applications, but it isn't as there is no indication of a wireless signal, so nothing is being downloaded or updated. Cydia is just stuck.
after some reboots and respringing, I was able to get Cydia to run and it noticed the broken install and it allowed me to delete the aborted install and then the rest of the updates proceeded fine.
