Cydia won't run

I have an IPhone 3gs. I jailbroke it using pwnagetool ver4.3.3.1 and IOS4.3.3 (the phone has been jailbroken before). In the past I have had no problems with cydia. When I am finished with pwnagetool cydia is loaded onto my phone but when I try to run cydia it starts to come up and then almost immediately drops out. The same thing happens with the terminal application. I have tried to rejailbreak it several times. I have have also increased the root partition size and that doesn't change anything. I have searched via google to find an answer and so far have been unsuccessful infinding something that works. What can I do to get to cydia to run on my phone like it should?

If you are running it tethered jb then plug to redsnow and press boot tethered
If it doesn't work then downgrade to 4.2.1
When you mean terminal crashes that because terminal isn't compatible on iOS 4 there is a new version for iOS 4 on mod edit: warez repo name removed repo

I am running an untethered jailbreak using pwnagetool. However when I try to bring up cydia it won't load. It starts to load and then crashes. It worked fine when I had 4.3, just won't now.

Sounds like blotched jb. Create a new custom fw and restore to it again.

I have restored and performed another JB 3 seperate times. All to no avail

Are you setting up as new or restoring from backup.

I have tried both ways. I have also tried JB on my mac and on a windows machine.

I have tried redsnow, snowbreeze and pwnagetool. I have downloaded the ipsw files from multiple locations in case I could have gotten a file that was corrupt. When the programs finish, I have 4.3.3 installed and cydia is there but it doesn't work. It's brown not white like a lot of people talk about. However when you try to run it, it starts to load and then drops back to my home screen.

The only question left I can think to ask you is if you're sure it's a 3GS and not a 3G. I mean the custom fw wouldn't have worked if you had the wrong fw but I dunno what else to ask :/

Usually using 3 different tools, one of them should work. Might just be an issue with your phone. What it is, I haven't a clue.

well finally after going round and round with it. I tried redsnow on my mac again and this time it was successful in installing the 4.3.3 update and getting cydia to work!!

I guess if at first you don't succeed, try 100 more times.

Yeah haha sometimes persistence is key. I've seen many people just have to do it 50 times
