Transparent icon backgrounds not working for all icons 4.2.1

Hi guys been trying to mod my theme using 4.2.1 with an iphone4 but some icons..... those which can not be labeled as [email protected] or icon-72.png.... ie. [email protected] or just icon.png these do not have transparent backgrounds they come up as black from the mask created in Folders/MobileIcons.framework/ within the theme which works fine for most other icons at a res of 120x120.

All icon are the same size, definitely have transparency box ticked when exporting for web and devices using CS5. This is a Bit of an issue when trying to mod icons in WebClips and the IBooks icon for example where i can not dump their icons in a seperate Icon Folder within the theme.

Any ideas?

Solution
Use ssh, iFile or similar and navigate to System/Library/PrivateFrameworks/MobileIcons.framework

Locate these files: [email protected] and [email protected]

Rename these files to AppIconMask@2x_BAK.png and SmallAppIconMask@2x_BAK.png respring your device using WinterBoard.

Now the background has been removed.


ATTENTION!
This "fix" unfortunately also causes non-themed icons to show up squared without rounded corners.
Nothing to do about this, so you decide what you like the most!
