Let's say I launch PDANET, I'm on the 3G and WiFi networks with my iphone, I connect my desktop to PDANET and start using it as my internet connection.
Will PDANET be using the 3G network or will it use the WIFI connection I'm on?
Well what happens is my roommate has wifi but my desktop cannot have wifi... but my iphone does have wifi. I sit here on my pc connect to his wifi on my iphone and use PDANET to get internet access using his wifi.
If I shut of 3G its working but I want to make sure some how it is not my 3G
1. I have have many websites I own. I have blocked my IP address from my (home) Network Connection. When I visit the website on my (home) Network Connection I have set an IP ban to show a 404 not found.
2. When I visit using 3g and PDAnet I am able to load the website fine. Unique Ip form my 3G (only when wifi is turned off)
3. When I turn off 3G and try to load the website it says I am not allowed 404 error. This means I am using the wifi because it knows my IP and has followed the ban rule I added. This wouldn't be the case with 3G. This is also with data on all I have to do is turn 3G off.
It seems no matter what if you are on wifi PDAnet will automatically use your WIFI and not your 3G.
The only time I can get PDAnet to use 3G is if wifi is turned off.
I have however confirmed if you are on wifi PDAnet will use wifi and not 3G when connecting to your desktop. If you turn your wifi off it will then use the 3g network.
