Cydia wont start ? Goes back to Main Menu?

Hello,
I have this little problem with my Ipod Touch. I had it all working just fine but out of the blue Cydia wont load. I go in it and it says "Loading Data" and it stays there for a few seconds and takes me back out to the Ipod Menu with all the apps.

I read and read and got one app called "IphoneBrowser" but i dont see the "var/ etc folders and all the others folders I should be seeing.. I tried WinSCP but didnt want to log in So i thought it was prob an Iphone only software?

All i get is this

If you read it says "Ipod 3.1.2 (mime) is connected, not jailbroken (no afc2 service found) I dont get it. I used the blackrain on my Ipod.


Any ideas how to access the rest of the folders? So I can delete the files that the other threads say so.

You need afc2add from Cydia to use that to SSH in.

Since you can't open Cydia to open it, might you try WinSCP. Just needs OpenSSH for that one and wifi connection.

Although, I think a restore and rejb might be necessary if you can't find the problem via SSH.

So your saying that I need to have installed "OpenSSH" in order to use WinSCP?

I never installed Afc2 or OpenSSH from within Cydia. Am I screwed? If so what can I use to make a backup of everything I have in my Ipod including all the music/apps/music and hopefully all the album covers etc. Ill just reinstall the Firmware and start over I guess.

Well yes if you don't have at least OpenSSH you're not gonna get to the phone's root files.

You can back up everything into iTunes and your computer then restore and rejb. Whatever you do, don't restore from back up though, it will likely bring your problem back.
