HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found - Errors
Well, first I'd like to say I've owned an iPhone for about 10 days, was pre-jailbroken when I got it (3G 8GB model) and I learned the hard way not to run an update via iTunes.
Regardless to say, hours later I managed to get it out of recovery mode and running iOS 4.1.0, jailbroke it and Cydia is now appearing.I used CYDER to install ********** because I don't have WiFi at home, and no data plan (I use a prepaid plan). So I connect at the office which is where I am now.
Prob is I can't use it for anything... constantly getting errors.
The main one is when I run updates, I get about 8 of these errors each...
Index of /
HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found
then 8 of these
HTTP/1.1 404 Not Found
Tried google but, haven't found any solutions, either the threads die, the person gives up, or they found a fix but never posted what it was. This has been ongoing for 6 days. On my computer I can type in the url for Index of / and it brings up an index page so I know the site works.
Any suggestions? I worked when I got the phone initially... before I ran the iTunes updater. so I know it should work from the office.
Go figure... 6 days of this and 5min after posting I fixed it....
I added a new source,
In addition to
Index of /
I added
Index of /cydia/
Added the /cydia at the end, restarted Cydia, updated without a prob. Now to fix the same error for yellowsn0w.Last edited by THRobinson; 12-23-2010 at 11:27 AM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Really?
Cydia support forum, and it's an error on Cydia...???
Ah well, fixed now, but... seriously not sure why it's against the rules.

Yup can help with cydia just fine. Mention the other thing though and that is a no-no.

... well I still don't get it.
I have Cydia, it was giving errors when trying to update. Even if something was mentioned in passing, the legit Cydia error in the OP was ignored completely in the thread despite 5 posts being made.
I'll remove my profile... had I not found a solution myself, I doubt I'd have gotten much help by the looks of it anyway.
