My initial question was how do I reinstall cydia!?
Back to re jailbreaking, how will I know when lime rain is updates?
To use the others do I need to roll back my firmware?

I doubt limera1n will get any updates. All the others should have continued support. They all use the same exploit now though so it doesnt really matter.
As for reinstalling cydia I answered that already. You can try and run redsn0w and choose install cydia but it may not work and force you to restore. A restore is the safest course of action.

I installed the cracked app to 'try before I buy'
I thought the whole idea if cydia and the jailbreak community was to share ideas etc and not to profit from it.
I understand devs need funding etc.
Maybe I got the wrong impression?

Incase anyone is interested I sorted out the problems.
To sort the error as seen in picture I used mobile terminal:
cd/usr/lib/apt/method
cp http Http
Fixed it a treat. It also seemed to fix some source problems. i.e some sources i added now show up.
As for the not being able to uninstall the app I manually deleted it and Intelliscreen and intellishared.
Searched for all files linked to it, deleted them, then modified and removed in cydia.
Hey presto, job done.

He is talking about the thread I closed last night where he was asking for help because a cracked app was messing it up.
Can't delete a cydia app please help.
That is completely wrong. To jailbreak is to allow you to have apps that Apple doesn't allow and get more use out of your phone. It is like if Apple had the only grocery store in the world. You had to buy items from them. But Apple hates geneticaly enhanced corn so they don't allow anyone to sell it in the store. Cydia allows those items to be sold there.
It is not about stealing peoples hard work; it is about giving you a choice away from a monopoly control of a market.Last edited by Cer0; 11-23-2010 at 06:41 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost
