    Default ERROR: failed in buffer_write(fd) (8,ret=-1) -

Hi i use 3GS, 4.1 and jailbroken with greenpoison, whenever i install any cydis apps now i get the above error message, then i close cydia again open cydia click 'return to cydia' sometimes it seemed to be working.

When i checked storage system, it shows used 100%, 750M is that reason i get the error message anyway can i clear few files to make more spaces on system partition.

    Default Bump!

    bump!

I've got an iPhone 4 running 4.1 jailbroken with limera1n and I have the same problem.

I'd like to see if there is solution to this other than restoring and re-jailbraking.

I get the error when I try to upgrade mobile substrate and the error message I'm getting is

    /var/cache/apt/archives/mobilesubstrate_0.9.3367

    failed in buffer_writer(fd) (8,ret=-1)

Also, I have about 6.5GB of space left so I doubt disk space is a issue.

Unfortunately I don't think there is. I updated my jailbreak and all was fine. Make sure you back up before you do update and you shouldn't have any problems getting all your stuff back. It might take an hour or so but it's well worth it

Yeah, I thought of doing that long time ago but never did because I always had problem restoring back all my stuff. I could never get it back and ended up downloading everything again. Can you provide a quick n easy step by step tutorial on how to properly back up and restore using iTunes? That'll be awesome!

This is for my 3G iPod touch by the way... if that matters.

    Thanks
