I recently experienced the issue listed here:
At any rate, I ended up restoring my phone. The custom IPSW that
I used from here
Download Custom Firmware 3.1.2 IPSW – Jailbreak, Activate, Unlock iPhone 2G, 3G, 3GS [Mac and Windows] | iLikeMyiPhone
already had cydia installed. I ran it and installed all of the updates from cydia. Then installed rock via cydia (for some reason blackra1n would run on my phone but didn't install the blackra1n installer app)
After having all of my packages restored via rock, and going back to cydia, I can't seem to install ANY packages from cydia! (rock still seems to work)
I currently have:
Cydia Installer version 1.0.3172-68
diskdev-cmds version 421.7-4
steps to reproduce:
1. run cydia
2. wait for packages to download (always seems to timeout / errors: fails to fetch
but I think that's because the server is super busy. ANYWAY
3. Every time I go to ANY package and attempt an install, I get the following:
Error Running Sub-process /usr/bin/dpkg returned and error code (1)
subprocess pre-installation script returned error exit status 1
and then I can return to Cydia with nothing installed...
Any help / insight on this issue is greatly appreciated. Thanks!!
