Thumbs down Cydia not showing additional application details

    Hi-

I just jailbroke a 3.1.2 32GB 3GS using Pwnage on a mac.. I had a 2g 8GB but set up the new 3GS as a new phone, and did not restore previous settings. The 3GS has the older 4.26 modem firmware.

On the new 3GS, when I select any package in the list, the information between "Change Package Settings" and "Installed Package" is completely missing and does not load. On my 2g, I can see headings and text for "Description", Information - including Download Stats, More Info, Developer's page, etc...

Has anyone seen this before, and is there anything I can do to get Cydia to show me this data?

From my experience, it's usually the host of the package's fault. Ensure you have internet access by visiting a site in Safari, and then try multiple packages from different sources. Sometimes they are just down for a while.

Ok, here's an update, in case anyone else runs into this problem. I was also having a problem where after installing Backgrounder, my phone kept rebooting into safe-mode, and everything was fine after uninstalling Backgrounder. I did this multiple times to check and make sure that was the app.

Because I wasn't seeing many messages of people having trouble with Backgrounder on 3.1.2, and because of the Cydia weirdness, I decided to create a new custom firmware in Pwnage, and this time I only checked the boxes to install Cydia (the last time, I pre-loaded the firmware with OpenSSH, and a few other programs that I always download right away). Then I restored the new custom firmware, and now I can see all of the extra details on each package. It seems like it must be possible to mess something up when you install extra packages in Pwnage, because now that I think about it, I may have had some weirdness last time I created firmware for my 2G about 6 months ago.

Thanks for your help though! I did think about the internet connection thing, but I checked and had no problems in safari or other network-using programs.
