Exclamation Cydia starts, loads, and shuts down?!

    Hi all.

I have a problem with Cydia, when i press the icon on my jailbrokoen (blackrain) Iphone 3GS it starts up, say: loading data, and then after a few seconds, it just shuts down to the menu on my Iphone.

Have some of you the same problem and what can i do to fix it?

    Thanks

Working here now 100%, used iFile on my device

Navigate to the /var/lib/apt/lists/ folder. Delete the 3 x zodttd files
Navigate to /private/etc/apt/sources.list.d Delete the zodttd file
    Then launch cydia.

    Default Cydia Crashing and Reinstall

Hey folks, I've been searching all over for a solution to my Cydia problem, which apparently many others are having. Basically, I uninstalled some themes with ssh this morning and suddenly found that Cydia would crash after seeming to start up. I tried the various 'get-apt' commands suggested on these forums and elsewhere, but the commands didn't work.

smeeshum's instructions posted above(and quoted here) totally worked for me. didn't have to re-jailbreak or anything, just deleted the files he suggested from my PC in the ssh client i have installed which is filezilla.
Navigate to the /var/lib/apt/lists/ folder. Delete the 3 x zodttd files
Navigate to /private/etc/apt/sources.list.d Delete the zodttd file
    Then launch cydia.

    Hope this helps

It's safe to reinstall the zodttd source by searching for it in Cydia now. The errors been fixed.

Had the same issue until now. Went to rock app, deleted the zoddt source, respringed and cydia works perfect now. Anyone know why this source was causing the cydia crash? Guess should leave it off?

    ralle990,

you can use the Rock installer(if you have it) to download open SSH. If you don't have Rock installed along with Cydia, I'm not sure what you can do, but I'm sure someone else with more expertise can assist you in that case. Keep us posted regardless.
