Cydia hates me
Well... I suppose I'll start at the beginning. I was bored and decided to open up Cydia and refresh (I'd been waiting for a iRealSMS3.0 Beta update). But to my surprise, Cydia crashes immediately back to springboard. I'm thinking: No big deal, probably a bad source or corrupt something or another. Well I was wrong.
Let me say, I've tried the tricks: ClearCache app, Updates Parts and Lists folders- I've scoured the web for a fix. I have even gone as far as to remove cydia and reinstall. Which, is not as simple as just getting the deb and installing it. I've dug through the syslog and cydia crash report, but it is all greek to me. I'd be willing to post up either logs for those interested.
I'm on 3.0, so I need to update anyways. But it has become a matter of trying to figure this out, for me. Almost like a personal challenge. And it is not like this has made the phone unusable, everything else works. And I can still update apt-get, just in a non GUI manor.
Through this challenge, however, I have learned to use apt-get via terminal (in my case PuTTy), dpkg and many other utilities that I otherwise would have remained in the dark about.
So I guess what I am asking for is assistance, or any help that anyone has to offer. I wish that I could contact saurik about it, but he has soo much that he is doing and receives a crap ton of email everyday. And it will be like a taco inside a taco within a Taco Bell that's inside a KFC that's within a mall that's inside your dream!

I was stuck with this once before and I resorted to a restore. I too am on 3.0, but am considering moving up since Cydia now insists on try to load a source that I have removed from my sources list giving me the 404 error. Ironic that it just so happens to be the irealsms beta repo lol.

Do you have "spell number emoji" on your iphone? My cydia has gone to crap twice in one week!! Restored both times cause I tried everything just like you and nothing worked! Cydia crashed again to the SB 2 days ago! I noticed my emoji keyboard was gone! So I went to "spell number" typed 91929394.59/ return/ reboot turned the emoji keyboard on and to my amaze Cydia started right up!! Maybe this is your problem and fix!

"spell number" is a free app from the app store that enables the emoji keyboard! It was the problem with my cydia not starting!!
