Default Oh Cydia! I have made a mess...

Okay Cydia is having issues and I was desperate for new apps, so I tried to fix instead of just waiting it out... I have made a mess.

I followed a combination of fixes, deleting all but partial folder, etc, but didn't work. So just deleted cydia and cydia.app. Why did I do that? I backed up however and added them back, but no use.

Bigger issues now... Every time I select an icon it freezes, then spinning wheel, then restart. Doesn't constantly reboot or anything. It will restart back to springboard, but if I touch an icon - wheel o death.

Please help. I have over 500 apps (no comments) and a ton of mods that I love. I don't want to re-jailbreak, so please let that be your very last suggestion.

    Thanks family!!!

If you can still SSH into your phone you can reinstall Cydia with a deb file.
Go here and it explains it a bit more.
    Cydia Crashing

Other wise you will have to restore and re-jailbreak. sorry.

This is my issue... I use phoneview to ssh into my phone, and it has no command line. But I have also never understood how if your phone is on a reboot and you can't access settings, how you would find your ip address to issue commands anyway.

Thanks for your quick response by the way!

Wow, not sure really. I don't believe there is a way without it. May be time to restore. I know that's not the answer you want but you may have no choice. Sorry.

If you take a look at you network router you can find your iPhone Ip address or the one it is using.

Zwayne - please explain. I'm on a macbook using snow leopard. I use a wireless router. It is routed through time capsule if that means anything. Thanks for any help guys. My phone is on again - sbsettings works, so does anything that I run through the lockscreen, but if I press an icon, I know that will be it.

cydia_1.0.3044-65_iphoneos-arm.deb (looks like this?) Thought I knew what was doing until this bs. FML.

if you have and can open SBSettings you can see the wifi addy there, so you can ssh in and install the deb file.

Can you please tell me how to do this? I can get the ip address. Where do I put the deb file to issue the command. Read the above post. Doesn't explain where to put it. Thanks
