Hi. I have a jail-broken iphone 3G. The Cydia icon is on the menu but when I click, a "who are you" pop-up appears. After clicking "user", the screen goes blank and switches back to iphone menu mode.
What can I do?

Upgrade to firmware 3.1.2 here iPod and iPhone Firmware Download and run blackra1n found here: blackra1n.com once your iphone is plugged in quit itunes and run backra1n. Congrats now your jailbroken, to restore to the 3.1.2 IPSW hold shift while clicking restore and choose the file you downloaded from felixburns.de

I have an iPhone 3g was running 3.0 upgraded to 3.1.3 and then as instructed on tutorial I used redsn0w to j/b to 3.1.2 using 7D11 ipsw. Everything went fine.

Started Cydia and got a message to say Cydia was reorganising iPhone and would close app on completion. Took about 5 minutes and closed app. Now Cydia has gone. What do I need to do to recover Cydia?

Thanks for that. I did get it sorted, but I simply run redsn0w again, I think I didn't quite get the install right first time round. Now everything works fine, just installed SBSettings and will install winterboard later.

Cydia is installed during the Jailbreak process. If you haven't completed a jailbreak on your phone look at some of the tutorials on here for information on how to do this.

It's really quite simple.
