I downloaded It and when I went to that website to enter my email I got the email and and installed the tethering. Well guess what it does it makes your phone think you have no celluar data network!!!!!! So I said F**K This SH*T and went back to 3.0 and Redsnowed Its a much better jailbreak with no problems and I got my tethering back plus I can still MMS. Only thing that sucks is you have to set your phone as a new phone so hopefully people sync their contacts and all that bs to windows. Hoped I helped you guys. This should teach all of you not to download crap from these sources that no one really knows about. DEV TEAM I admire your concerns about unlock and all that great stuff but Us windows users need a clean windows jailbreak not everyone cares about unlock.

Your post didnt make much sense to me, I think you are a little misinformed....Im not exactly sure what website or what you had to enter an email in for tethering for.

There is a clean jailbreak for 3.1.2 Its called BlackRa1n. Also within cydia there is a repo that has a file that you can enable tethering on 3.1.2 and an updated carrier settings file that comes with it so cellular data network and all of that stuff still works.

Im sorry if I didnt make sense yes I know about black rain i was on 3.1.2 when I did all this and what had happened was after I downloaded it from Iphonemod I think it was called. It rebooted my phone and I went into the settings and tethering still wasnt there so I found a thread in here that directed me to a website to enter my email in along with what carrier I had so I recieved the email and when I clicked set up tethering it said to contact atnt and then it said when I went into the internet No celluar data detected or something like that therefore no 3g internet access so I restored back to 3.0 and was like the hell with this nonsense. Now do you understand a lil better.

I dont think your issue is a problem with 3.1.2 or a problem with black Ra1n, it sounds like it wasnt the right carrier settings and thats what caused the cellular data error you got.

If you would like to be on 3.1.2 and have tethering there is a cydia repo that has the hack to enable it, you dont haft to enter any emails or do anything from the computer side, it also installs the correct carrier settings for your cellular data network.

What is the name of the Cydia Repo and package that enables tethering on 3.1.2? I'm assuming you are not talking about MyWi? I am using MyWi now, although only the trial version (which expires tomorrow) I need to get tethering back up and running without paying $9.99 for an app that is unreliable like MyWi.

No Mywi is from that rock app which I think causes mad problems with the phone there is this tethering hack in some repo that is supposed to allow your phone to be able to tether I just came back to 3.1.2 with geohots new version of blackrain but im afaid to put the tethering on my phone bc last time I had to restore but if someone knows whats a "good" repo to get it from message me or whatever bc I know them all but there are certain ones that I really am Iffy about bc they have alot of illegal sh*t and I dont wanna get in trouble lol
