I'm having the exact same issue. I get an error saying it's a database fetch error then nothing. No repos, no changes, nothing in sections. I can't even view packages already installed. For no Rockyourphone is working so I will use that and so is ICY.

We believe that Cydia is having a problem, It's effecting everyone. He may be updating or server problems. Just hang in there.

Me too, All Cydia apps are GONE!
I was minding my own business and I opened Cydia. I got the same message. NOW I get: Error:Clean Archives
Problem with MergeList/var/lib/apt/lists/apple-news,fr_._Packages
The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.
HELP!
Mine is back also. Thanks

I'm having this same exact problem after installing a repo. Does anyone know how to fix it?

Happened to me all the time early in 3.0 it comes once you add new sources... i just scrapped my new sources and it worked pretty well. A stronger wifi connection seemed to help with me but i cant say for sure....
edit: yours seems different mine would just flash errors for a while then not downloadLast edited by Periodic; 09-12-2009 at 07:47 PM.

Periodic, how did you "scrap" your sources? I don't have any sources listed. They're all gone.

same problem here since i start my cydia this morning, all content gone,no idea how it happens.
is it really my problem or the sever??

This is the problem. When i try to open cydia, i keep getting a tonne of error messages (this has never happened before) Is this a problem with cydia or is it just me? These are the error messages:
"Error: Clean Archives" Problems with mergelist/var/lib/apt/lists/apple.news.fr_repo_._packages The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.
"Error: database, encountered a section with no package: Header".
plus when i go to sections, there is just one option that says "All packages" and there is nothing in it when i open it...?
I have tried refreshing within changes but to no avail....
I still get the "downloading release" and "downloading packages" but then it just says Error: cahce failure
So my dilema is, do i delete cydia from my iphone and reinstall or what?
************************************************** ******************************
also got this message just now in a pop up box:
Error: Refreshing Data
GPG error
richcreations.com the following signatures were invalid: NODATA 1 NODATA 2
Failed to fetch
http://apt.hackers.nl/dists/iphone/release.gpg Host Unreachable
then another few just like these but EasyWakeup - intelligenter Wecker für Ihr iPhone 403 forbidden
failed to fetch www.a-steroids.com/cydia
then at the very bottom it says: some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead.
does anyon know WTF is going on? i dont want to have to re JB my phone with all the recent problems going on (even though i only have the 3G model) i just dont want to be left without a JB (i would be lost without it now)

I am having this issue lately also...no problem encourtered at all before this afternoon...
after so whenever I opened Cydia it said encountered a section with on package: header
and all my installed packages and sources are gone from the list...all empty
Is this the problem of Cydia or is it my individual problem? How do I fix it tho?
I didn't add or remove any sources prior to this issue...Last edited by auwkeung; 09-16-2009 at 04:54 AM.

iMister, I finally got the problem solved!!
Just SSH into your iPhone, navigate to the following folder:
/private/var/lib/apt/lists
delete everything except the folder "partial" (You can move them to a folder in your PC/MAC just in case)
Restart Cydia and no more warning this time! Go to Changes and press Refresh and all the changes should be there again!
It at least works for me...do let me know if it works for you

I think we kinda got something corrupted and Cydia just doesn't know what to do.....
