Restore to original settings. But u can use like pkgbackup or aptbackup. But don't restore from backup in itunes

But where can i find pkgbackup or aptbackup? Pls dont tell me is from Cydia.
If i restore to orignal setting then all my apps setting, notes, e-mails, wifi password, contacts etc will be all gone?
Can i setup another Itune account from another PC then use it to original restore then sync again with my existing Itune account. Will it helps to get back all the things.

Just found the solution for n
my 3.1.2 3gs. Me proble was database error with no section header and failed to load apt.modmyi.com.packages which I deleted and my cydia is working now and all the repos I have installed are there. I am so happy. Hope it works for you. Good luck out there everybody.

guys i need help.all my sources gone.there is nothing in manage,changes and sections.when i try to download the steffwiz source it just gives me a list of errors.i can ssh my ipod touch because the package is lost.i dont wanna reJB again........

In ssh go to private/var/lib/apt/lists
and delete everything EXCEPT for partial folder

iMister, I finally got the problem solved!!

Just SSH into your iPhone, navigate to the following folder:

/private/var/lib/apt/lists

delete everything except the folder "partial" (You can move them to a folder in your PC/MAC just in case)

Restart Cydia and no more warning this time! Go to Changes and press Refresh and all the changes should be there again!

It at least works for me...do let me know if it works for you

I think we kinda got something corrupted and Cydia just doesn't know what to do.....

HSS into your iPhone to the following location/etc/apt/sources.list.d There you will find a file called cydia.list. Copy that file onto your Mac/PC



On your computer:

Keep the original and make another copy of that file. Open the copy and delete the line of text that is in reference to the source you experiencing problems with. Save and replace the file in your phone with the new one. Reboot the device and check to see that the errors are gone in Cydia.



This worked for me , so hopeuflly it'll work for you.

Ok so I followed what you said and you were spot on man!
I took it a bit further so I can have my cydia back to the way it was b4 whatever happened happened.
Here is what I did

1. Followed your instructions to the T
2. Checked Cydia - it worked!
3. Went 1 by 1 returning the files I removed from your steps back into the same folder.
4. Restarted Cydia after each copy until I found my culprit!!
5. Deleted file

Now I do not have to manually get back all my repos/sources they are all there. Follow "auwkeungs" with mine and you should be back to normal. Let me know if this helps please. I do not post unless it it worthwhile.

This was my bad file:

"apt.modmyi.com_dists_stable_main_binary-iphoneos-arm_Packages"

yes i had the very same problem I PANICKED and upgraded like an ***!!!!!!!! cause i was reading how there were jailbreaks for 3.1.3 (redsn0w,sn0wbreeze,pwnage tool) and cydia has my shsh. well now i'm stuck at 3.1.3 and i'm so FURIOUS at myself!!!!! i've tried for the past 4 days 32 hrs and NOTHING works. went to my mac host did the procedure NOTHING, redsn0w NOTHING, NOTHING works so i'm TOTALLY SCREWED until geo comes out with blackra1n for 3.1.3. so ALL i can say is WAIT it out as long as your apps work and your phone works WAIT!!!!!!

Thanks a ton! This worked for me so far! I just did it via ifile on my phone. I copied and pasted the info and emailed to my self to save on my pc at home.

Hopefully this bump will help others
