Help database cydia error

Could use some extended help on this please.

My cydia is not loading, at all. Comes up and before anything appears to sync it closes.

I went through all the thread I could find and addressed these actions according to these two threads:
1) [FIX] Sub-process bzip2 has returned an error... - iPod touch Fans forum
2) Cydia will NOT load! Winterboard works fine.
I even copied over the data from /2suit/.

Rebooted and no change. I've been at this all day.

Back online after a restore. Happily.

Prior to Cydia collapse I only noted one weird event. That was while playing Eliminate, all award notifications were being displayed after a game, when I didn't achieve those awards.
As I was manually backing up my data I saw a weird directory called, I forget the name, something like spammer or something, nuts I should have noted the name and dir.

I am receiving the following messages when I start cydia. I'm using a jailbroken iPhone 3GS 3.1 and unlocked via ultrasn0w

Error: Refreshing Data
Failed to fetch
http://apt.modmyi.com/dists/stable/m...s-arm/Packages
Hash Sum mismatch
Some index files failed to download, they have been ignored, or old ones used instead

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I am getting the same error all of a sudden with different dist URL.. I guess it's not a big deal though.. from what the next comment said... guess I will wait for the repo to come back..

iMister, I finally got the problem solved!!

Just SSH into your iPhone, navigate to the following folder:

/private/var/lib/apt/lists

delete everything except the folder "partial" (You can move them to a folder in your PC/MAC just in case)

Restart Cydia and no more warning this time! Go to Changes and press Refresh and all the changes should be there again!

It at least works for me...do let me know if it works for you

I think we kinda got something corrupted and Cydia just doesn't know what to do.....

Mine is working now I tryed reinstalling cydiaand funky reinstalled using blackrain and it's been working fine

Thanks to everyone for tip, deleted all sources in Lists apart from Partial, worked a treat. Cydia back to normal.

I have the same problem with 3gs Fw 3.1.2. It say data base error with no package heading. All my packages and resources are gone. Anybody knows the solution

Ok so I followed what you said and you were spot on man!
I took it a bit further so I can have my cydia back to the way it was b4 whatever happened happened.
Here is what I did

1. Followed your instructions to the T
2. Checked Cydia - it worked!
3. Went 1 by 1 returning the files I removed from your steps back into the same folder.
4. Restarted Cydia after each copy until I found my culprit!!
5. Deleted file

Now I do not have to manually get back all my repos/sources they are all there. Follow "auwkeungs" with mine and you should be back to normal. Let me know if this helps please. I do not post unless it it worthwhile.

I deleted that file and it didn't work for me. Any other options

Just found the solution for n
my 3.1.2 3gs. Me proble was database error with no section header and failed to load apt.modmyi.com.packages which I deleted and my cydia is working now and all the repos I have installed are there. I am so happy. Hope it works for you. Good luck out there everybody.

If u don't have ifile. Restore bit u could use other USB ssh like diskaid

HSS into your iPhone to the following location/etc/apt/sources.list.d There you will find a file called cydia.list. Copy that file onto your Mac/PC



On your computer:

Keep the original and make another copy of that file. Open the copy and delete the line of text that is in reference to the source you experiencing problems with. Save and replace the file in your phone with the new one. Reboot the device and check to see that the errors are gone in Cydia.

I have had this problem for months and everytime Cydia loads I get a packaging error for iphoneindya.....god knows where that came from. Deleting the files except Partial didn't make any difference so thought I'd give your suggestion above a try....

Worked like an absolute dream! I can confirm that if anyone gets one of the errors like above then editing this file and deleting the source from there which is causing the problem fixes it.
