Question Is this how to properly backup Cydia apps?

    Hi guys,

Every time I restore my ipod, I lose all of my cydia apps, and like most people, this annoys me so much. I've looked around on the web, but I'm still not sure if this is the correct way to backup up cydia apps.

So, can someone tell me if this will work:

    Backup (via ssh):

    private/var/stash/applications (the actual apps)
    /var/lib/apt/lists (sources)
    /private/etc/apt/sources.list.d/ (sources)

So if I back all of these up, and then replace them back in the correct places after a restore, will all the apps work properly, and will all the apps and sources appear in Cydia again?

    Thanks

    Arrow app options

sorry, I can't confirm your attempt to do a manual backup, and maybe I'm coming a little late with this other solution, or maybe you knew this already but wanted to do something else.

anyway, just to register here, there are two apps you may try to use for backup in a simpler way.

aptbackup - it's free, but all it does is generate a list that's supposedly saved with itunes sync and recovered later for auto-installation on cydia.

pkgbackup - paid/crackware, fool itunes to sync cydia apps together, making everything easier.

and good luck on your other quest, in case you want to keep on it.
