Bad URL message in Cydia
I entered a bad repo URL under source and now each time I refresh the page, it says bad URL. I can't seem to make that message go away and the repo has been deleted under source. Does anyone know where that file is? Maybe I can manually deleted that line via ssh.

i just ssh'd and found private/etc/apt/sources.list.d
in which is listed:
zodttd.list
yellowsn0w.com.list
ste.list
saurik.list
modmyi.com.list
ispazio.net.list
cydia.list
bigboss.list
however, user-entered sources don't seem to show up there. they're hiding somewhere else. my ultrasn0w source does not appear there.
others seem to have had this problem too:

hmm ....

I have been in that folder. Nothing there. When I was at beta5, I got the same message. I thought it was cuz it's beta. Apparently not the case. I've entered wrong url from other repo & it doesn't show up in list. It's just this ultrasn0w that is giving me this problem. Arg.
I found it. Fixed now.
SSh and goto private/etc/apt/sources.list d
Open cydia.list
Delete bad url entry
Upload and refresh to test.
Edited:
Nevermind. Temporary fix. As soon as you edited the source again in Cydia, the repo666....... url comes back.
Gone to restore and HOPEFULLY, I don't make the same mistake twice.Last edited by duceduc; 06-26-2009 at 06:02 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

I think I have it figured out.. follow all the steps below, and
I think it will work for everyone. It seems to be working for me
In /private/var/lib/cydia delete out your bad url in the metadata.plist file. I used pList editor for windows to do it.
then in:
/private/var/lib/apt/list
and
/private/var/lib/apt/list/partial
delete out any files with the bad url in the name.
then
SSh and/or use diskaid (or equiv) and go to private/etc/apt/sources.list d
Open/edit cydia.list, Delete any bad URL entry
Upload to device and then refresh Cydia to test.
So far it's all good on my 3GS with 3.12JB
Thanks for part of the Steps duceducLast edited by Redbeard46; 11-07-2009 at 11:02 PM.

My problem was that whenever I edit the source by adding or deleting a repo in Cydia, the cycle starts all over again with the errors.
Good find.

Thats Exactly what was happening to me. I got tired of restoring to get rid of the error, so, I figured out part of it. But I had to do some searching for the rest. I finally got the right Combo that worked, and just wanted to share with everyone. I was sure others MUST be having the same type of problems as I was. Before me, and after me. I'm a fairly Noob.. so just trying to do my part.
Glad I could help.Last edited by Redbeard46; 11-21-2009 at 11:22 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

Thanks Redbeard46 for the reply, but when I tried this, it erased all my repos I manually input.
Now I did remove several repos starting with </dict>
<key>deb:http://psxrepo.servegame.com/:./</key>
<dict>
<key>Distribution</key>
<string>./</string>
<key>Type</key>
<string>deb</string>
<key>URI</key>
<string>http://psxrepo.servegame.com/</string>
</dict>
Exactly, you will be fine.
and ending with <dict>
Thank God I backed up my originals...I will continue to look into this

remove the words inbetween the "string" parts, keep the forward and backward slashes
