    Default Virgin 8GB Iphone

    Hi, I will be recieving a 1st gen iphone soon that has never been unlocked or jailbroken. My question is regardless if its on the original 1.0 etc firmware can I just open itunes on my Mac and hold Alt/Option and restore a custom 2.2.1 fw to restore unlock and jailbreak it?
