Cydia package update caused system font change !

Hi everybody.

Just a few hours ago I got into the Cydia App in my iPod Touch (1Gen Firmware 2.2) and noticed some updates available. I confirmed the update of the packages and the ReSpring. After that, the system font changed to a not-very-attractive-to-me sort of Courier New font. Now my app labels, address bar in safari, email, settings and almost every text in the Touch is using that font. I can’t recall exactly all the packages updated but one of them was shell-cmds.

Somebody has experienced the same problem? I tried to sort this out using the Font Swap app but is hasn’t been successful. Any font I choose with Font Swap as System font doesn’t seem to work.

Help please.

Full reset dit not work either. Cheers

Now i'm only stuck with a crashing dialer ... anybody?

Solved

Hi all,

Im new here, but i have found the problem....

I have used the Saurik theme from winterboard, and the update has changed the fonts in this theme.

Connect with ssh to the iPhone and then edit the following file.
(If have used another theme then edit the Info.plist from your theme)

/Library/Themes/Saurik.theme/Info.plist

Change the font settings from 'Courier New' back to 'Helvetica'.
For more details see the attached files.

Don't forget to restart the SpringBoard
Attached Files
File Type: txt Info.plist.old.txt (605 Bytes, 230 views)
File Type: txt Info.plist.new.txt (591 Bytes, 272 views)

Can the .plist files be accessed from the iPhone?
Can someone tell me how to do that? Thanks.

joearrieta, I use iPhone PC Suite software to access iPhone. You can also use iFunBox, or something else. Somebody use Total Commander with some plug-ins, somebody connect via SSH.

I've just suddenly discovered another solution:

go to your Settings, then RiP Dev, then "System Font", and turn System font to "Off". Go back, then go to "RiP Dev products", and restart SpringBoard. That's all.
