I did not choose installer since I gave up on installer a while ago. However, Cydia is working like a charm on my jailbroken 3G.

When using pwnage, do not select any package in the cydia settings. Just select Cydia (and Installer) in the custom packages setting.

Select instead the packages you want after finishing the upgrade (via Cydia).

alot or always?

if possible, you guys should try and install either bossprefs or sbsettings, and do the 'dir fix' or if u can ssh into the phone, make sure the dir settings are correct for cydia

SSH is NOT on, I can't ssh to iphone, so that's why cydia does not work.

I am sure I did download ssh and selected it. is it bug with pwnage2.2.1?

Not working for me

I upgraded my iPhone 3G to 2.2 then pwned it using pwnage tool 2.2.
I unchecked activate, changed partition size to 1029mb, selected Cydia Installer, OpenSSH, Mobile Terminal, and Installer. I also did not use boot logos. I then made the .ipsw and followed the instructions.
Cydia launches, then the default.jpg that loads turns to a solid black and the Option thing comes up where you choose how to filter what you see. once you click on one, the app closes. Not crashes. It has the scale away effect like it closed.
The mobile terminal app never showed up on the home screen as well there for I can not do:
"su root (hit return)

alpine (hit return)

apt-get remove cydia (hit return)

Yes, do as I say! (hit return)

apt-get install cydia (hit return)

Then exit, and open Cydia. Voila!"

With out cidia, my iphone is just a piece of crap.
We need a fix. And soon.
Please help us.
If you need more info on what my specs of my comp / iphone are and how I Pwned it. Let me know. I think I covered about everything necessary though.

I ran QuickPwn for Mac OSX over it, and now cidia works. Hope it works for others.

I won't have the chance to jb until next week so I am on 2.1 still.
Cydia was crashing on me through out the day. finally around 3pm eastern I was able to connect to the site.

Not sure if my crashs were coincidence to people experiencing crashes with 2.2

many people has not problem with iphone 3G but iphone 2G.

Ok, got it works. # 1 works for me, enjoy!

1/ Make a IPSW without any packpage pre-installed (Expert mode > Nothing check in "Cydia Package")
(works for me)
2/ As you said, making a QuickPwn as a "second JB" could work too ... (Pwnage tool and then QuickPwn)
