removing erica mim icon...

okay, i used to be a reg poster at modmymoto and have made the jump to the iphone and of course stayed with the modmy*.* forums because the users here seem to be much more into using their phones than some of the other forums. i've had my phone for a couple weeks now and have jailbroken the hell out of it (thanks to all the info and resources here). i was going to do the carrier icon replacement, but opted for the much simpler mim application through cydia.

my question is. now that i have changed my carrier name to my name, do i still need the erica mim icon chillin on my 3rd screen, or can i go through cydia and simply remove the icon without it affecting the carrier name change?

well actually ive seen it work both ways. i tried this on the 1.1.4 firmware and just uninstalling it worked fine ( the custom ones stayed) but on 2.1 i just decided to create a categories folder with crap that i dont usually use but need and stuck it in there.

You can remove it. The modified carrier name sticks.
