10 seconds to open cydia? Then 15 seconds to update?
title says it all. When I try to open up cydia it takes 10 to 15 seconds to open the app. I can't cancel it our anything. Then another 10 - 20 seconds to refresh. I have full 3g and does the same on wifi.
Is this normal?
I have been on YouTube and watch someone open up cydi in less than 5 seconds. Or atleast seems that way.
Most everything else seems not to take as long. Any advice? I read another post about RAM tips or something of this nature. How long does others take to load?

are you extensively theming your phone? Try using the phone without anything from winterboard added on.

all I have on winterboard is talking alerts and Leo theme. I just took all off and it was 11 seconds to get anything on the screen besides a black screen. Then another 20 seconds to load the updates.
If I was to use customize, which I never have, do you think it will be any different?
How long does yours take to load everything and open up?

Not nearly as long as yours is taking. A couple of seconds maybe.

Mine is slow too. It didn't used to be. The only thing I can attribute it to on my phone MAY be the internet connection I have while at work. I go home next week to a 3G network and will check it out then.
It has nothing to do with themes in my case.

well if no theming is to blame, there must be a logical reason. Anyone care to give it to me? LOL
No really, I would like to know. I go on my patio, light a smoke, let the dogs go pee, come back in and it just finished loading. Full 3g bars or full wifi, same time.

Then the only logical explanation is that your phone is faulty. Go return it to apple, say it has crazy load times, no need to clarify 'what' loads slowly.

Doesn't seem like a bad idea. 2 things though. I am out of town right now without a of to sinc to. Also I have best skins ever installed and love that.
Do you think this is the reason and worth the hastle?you think it will be the fix?
What will they saybif they look at my phone and see cydia on there? Will they not swap the iPhone?

Do an itunes restore before taking it to them. Otherwise they'll just void your warranty. When you take the phone there, obviously, it won't act up. Just say it jams up on me randomly, and say that you've already restored multiple times. This way they won't be able to just restore it and give it back to you saying it'll work fine now. Don't walk out without a replacement.

Have to agree with original post, cydia is slow to open and slow to update.
This is on a fresh jailbroken 2.1 iPhone 3G on wifi connection.
I dont think its ever been as quick to open as stated above , 2 seconds.

I just did a restore of my 3G and Cydia is still slow to open relative to other apps and I haven't even themed it yet.
Could this be due to the greater number of downloads now available on all the repos?

I don't know what you guys mean by slow. Slow as in, the program loads slow? Or slow as in after it opens? Because it's always been slow after it starts the sources refreshing process.
