Ok i have browsed the forum and tried some solutions but still cant seem to fix this. Cydia, when pressed, will try to open for like 3 seconds then go back to the main menu. i have tried the app remove from the terminal and get this

/var/lib/cydia$ apt-get remove cydia
Reading package lists...
E: Encountered a section with no Package: header
E: Problem with MergeList /var/lib/dpkg/status
E: The package lists or status file could not be parsed or opened.

Cant seem to figure out how to fix this as i cant use cydia now.

first time doing this btw so im a little wet behind the ears.


*ok think i solved it. Found the status file and in it it had a bunch of ÿÿÿÿÿÿÿ. after deleting them it let me install cydia again.
