I was a moderator for many cellphone forums a few years ago. At times, it became very hard to moderate and be a member at the same time.
Many situations arose when I came to the site I moderated and just wanted to browse around. If you saw a post in conflict, you had the obligation to remove/edit it.

The hardest is being the sole moderator of a forum section. You are responsible for that section and what goes on in there.
I personally, like many others, get tired of the babysitting after some time. In the end, it started feeling like a job, a job that I didn't get any enjoyment out of.

Maybe the admins or mods here will have a different opinion but this is my opinion, from my past experiences.

ps. I remember being part of the staff with poetic_folly too at Motomodders. You've come a long way poetic

Yes, it is very overwhleming with the amount of people that come in go from these forums daily. I just feel like I am not fulfilling my job, because here, it is nearly impossible with out putting a lot of time into it. There is some spam, but the main thing is nobody understands how to post in the right section. As a moderator, it is your job to make sure all those threads are moved to the proper forum. As broomheadifone said: "I have to move atleast 100 threads before I even begin to look at stuff on my own."

I am just not feeling this virtual job anymore.

I have been a moderator and admin on Graphics forums before, and it is much easier and you feel more accomplished because they are never on a scale such as MMi.

I honestly think if I put more time into, I could feel like I am getting my job, but right now in my life I just dont feel willing to give up the extra time. So, instead of just staying on staff and not helping, I decided that retiring was the way to go.
