Well. My online name says it all. Even tho I don't partake in it now a days. It used to be my thing. I always thought a spliff was a cone filled J.

And as far as names goes. Well. We called it all kinds of stuff. Even made a few names. Like skizz. And such. Epod was always good when around parents. They never think to spell things backwards.

I hear ya, I was speaking of the Spliff in a literal sense.

Me, I was never a drinker really. Smoked the evil weed back in the school days then stopped for a while, got married, had a kid. Then I saw the LIGHT. Here in AZ and most western states it seems that everyone smokes weed.
Started smoking every day when I had my first bout with cancer and never looked back. I am an advocate. I believe in it. And that the "war on weed" has done more harm, filled our prisons, ruined many lives and cost far more money then I care to think of.
I am certain that soon it will be legal, Washington and Colorado are just the first to legalize. Alaska is next and most all states will follow easily in our lifetime.

I hear ya, don't understand all the negatives towards it either. So many positive uses for it just makes no sense why people still view it in a negative way, personally I think alcohol can be much worse on the body and can certainly impair somebody considerably more than marijuana.

One of my good friends. Has a daughter. That has epilepsy. She has seizures. There is a medicine that can be derived from a marihuana plant that can stop her seizures all together Right now they have her on a pile of meds He was explaining the benefits of the medical usage for the extractions of this plant. And I think that upset me more than the smoking part. She is 4 years old 4.

^Yes sir, Cannabidiol (CBD) is widely used for that and so many other things too.
I have an employee that is an Afghanistan war vet, a wonderful guy too, that struggles with PTSD. He is involved in a study at ASU that is using Medical Marijuana and he says he is so impressed with the relief he gets from it. So happy to be off the ton of drugs the VA gave him as he walked around in what he called "a drug coma" and was sure there had to be a better way. He wasn't a weed smoker before the study I might add.
I will admit that I now smoke for the pure enjoyment of it, but it has gotten me through 2 very tough times in my life too. I'm a believer...

Well. If they used The Mary j treatment. People might actually save money Which in turn might put a few pharmaceutical companies out of business. And lord knows we do t want anyone losing money over people getting to feel better. Is what it always comes down to. Politics and money.

Well, the state government is reaping the benefits for sure. Colorado has reported over a Million dollars in tax dollars earned since January 1 2014.
20 other states which have approved Medical Marijuana sales also, more tax dollars.

The deleterious effect on brain cells is a well documented and study proven downside to marijuana use. The "gateway drug" data is more sketchy but still a reason I'm glad it's illegal.. If there's even 1 chance in 10,000 that it was a gateway drug for a now addicted heroin user - I wouldn't want that early marijuana user to have been my kid... Jes' sayin'

Google is your friend, Simon.. .. Google Scholar should bring up various studies that prove the brain cell killing effect.. Or were you challenging me about the gateway drug aspect?

Nope, the brain cell thing. And google is YOUR friend Grant.
Let me google that for you

Click that link and tell me how many of those links are on your side of this. Can't blame you really, you are from the generation that perpetuated the negative stigma about marijuana, so much so that people like you just take what was said about it as fact without really looking in to the studies about it and how they were done. Read a few of those links that come up and you may start to see the truth. I did.

Why not campaign for legalizing cocaine and others as well? You people kill me with your pro drug bs. So you would let your teenage child lay around and get wasted because it is harmless? Go suck on a barrel.

To each their own. Believe what you choose to believe. Facts are facts. I'm OK with people having their own opinion. I'm not trying to convince anyone, I was just stating what I feel is the real world truth.

I know for a fact that it certainly helped me with chemo and stress. I have a State issued MJ card, grow my own and am happy that Arizona Voters were wise enough to change the laws.
