I'm gonna repost my comment from the news thread:
Fanboys of both camps are **mod edit: refrain from poor diction choice, free discussion of these topics do not mean foul language is now available to use** idiots in my opinion.
I use both iOS and Android and they each have their pros and cons. Why can't we all just be happy there is competition in the market which forces both companies to innovate. At the end of the day, the main beneficiaries will be us, the end users.
So before you morons go on a tangent saying one is better than the other, be happy that we have choices out there...Last edited by i.Annie; 05-15-2012 at 09:22 PM.

Keep the language clean, rules still apply here. Feel free to openly discuss and disagree with the topic at hand here so that it does not fall into an article which then identifies as off-topic. Language is still monitored. Personal attacks that get out of hand will still be handled accordingly.
With that being said, proceed.

I have played with Android and use iOS..... I love iOS and my reasons are I like the look and feel of it compared to Android. I could not ever bring myself to buy a Android sorry for any Android lovers!

Android is nice and all, but each time my sister wants me to help her do something simple on her phone, it seems that things are buried in menus full of useless "customizations". I love the idea of having every option possible for tweaking my computer, tablet and phone, but it just felt so alien to me. Perhaps it is because I have used iOS for so long, idk, but it just feels better. Like on my home screen I like to have all apps that are installed to be there. Whether they are in folders, different pages or just all spread out it is nice to be able to click the home button and then open up another app. On Android, there are all of these different pages, but you have to open the app drawer to access the installed apps (if you didn't already put that new game on your home screen). Little things like that are just a waste of taps and time on a mobile device. Also, if I were to go to best buy to look at android handsets, there are way too many different models, sporting different UI's, and different firmwares. If I were to get the new "droid" device, who's to say that it will actually get the firmware update next year? I know that my 4S will receive this years update, next years and possibly the year after that. I understand that for some people, the iPhone screen is too small, the lack of (micro)SD slots and HDMI ports are deal breakers. For me, I like having my phone not be confused for a tablet. I have never been in a situation where I wished I could plug in an SD card or plug my phone into someone's TV. I still don't understand why someone would want to plug a flash drive into a phone. I can see how people who do not already have a mac, or use iTunes or have an AppleTV would not feel the need to have an iPhone. At the end of the day, I really enjoy how well my Apple devices play together.
Android doesn't suck, it is a good mobile OS. It just lacks that sexiness and polish that the iOS UI has done so well. And it will be like a taco inside a taco within a Taco Bell that's inside a KFC that's within a mall that's inside your dream! Springboard screwy after reboot? Here is the fix

I agree. I've never owned an Android device before, but I can say what I love about my iPhone. Well, it's more so what I can do with my iPhone in conjunction to other Apple products. A lot of people get angry and think Apple is "tying them down" by restricting compatibility to its own devices. In many cases, it doesn't apply but the little things can bother people.
I like using my iPhone as a remote to my Apple TV 2, and I like controlling my MBA iTunes from afar with the ATV2 remote, and then I like using my iPhone with to use remote desktop off my MBA when I'm working out and need to study for a quiz online that requires flash or a particular browser. It's also nice to mirror my MBA wireless to my LED tv with my ATV2. There are just so many things I do with my iPhone and MBA and ATV2 in conjunction with each other.
Regarding iOS specifically, I would like to explore the Android OS at least once in my lifetime lol. I still have yet to do that but I just love the simplicity of iOS already. Like ^ said, it's so simple and easy to navigate through. It's even better jailbroken of course lol. I'd love to try an Android device out though, like one of the top-of-the-line ones. I'm curious about the market place as well as the OS itself.
