Here a place for anyone to post their rage, comments, questions, etc about the PSN outage.
PSN has been down since 4/20 (haha 4/20 lol). It is now 4 almost 5 days later now, and it's still down.

ya spent $60 on SOCOM n I cant even play the mp

At least we aren't paying to play online like Xbox... but still. Sony says they fixed it pretty much but they are making it more secure. They should have just released & updated it with security as needed. We are all suffering.
I feel super bad for anyone who is paying for Netflix or a PSN plus subscription.

Sony messed with the bull (Anon, etc.) and got the horns--their most profitable recurring revenue stream got so thoroughly pwned that they're having to rebuild from scratch.
While it sucks incredibly massive balls for their customers (sorry fellas), I don't think one can reasonably say Sony didn't have this coming to them.
Wonder if it has anything to do with Amazon EC2 going chock-a-block...

As a Sony customer I am personally happy about what happened to them. They finally got what they deserve.

This site has some interesting info about this.
It's not that big of deal to me as long as my cc and personal info wasn't compromised. I think they shut it down before this happened. They will probably never know who it was that actually did this but let's hope it doesn't happen again.

So now apparently the hackers got credit card info... I don't believe that. I think they might claim they are, just to get Sony more worried & us upset that we can't play.

Last I heard it was not Anoy as they have been saying. It was a group that made a custom firmware build that replicated an Admin Dev firmware.

Watch Netflix on an iDevice or Netflix.com?
Furthermore, I don't buy the "admin dev FW caused the shutdown" stuff. A CFW console doesn't need to spoof PSN for piracy purposes (downloading content), any unit on a modern CFW has the tools to do so (and no more on that subject).
The stuff about "not checking CC info" is illogical, as well. Sony has exactly nothing to do with that information check--the credit card processor network validates the transaction and returns a signed result. If they have a credit-card check at all (if it's a dev-only network, logically they could assume it's devs-only and there's no reason to charge, period) then any breaches along that chain of trust should be stemming from the credit card company.
Unless of course, Sony is dumb enough to put the payment system in and then break/not use the processor's response to allow/deny the transaction based on whether or not the funds were received from the customer. Wouldn't surprise me. Either way, I don't think Sony did this intentionally. They got housed, badly.

Sony just knows their pants are down and people are watching. They are freaking out. It's fun to watch.

I don't know who took a swing at them, but man did they do a thorough job. The only way they could've done worse would be if they took down the entire SO-NET (actual name) or pulled a PATRIOT Act and altered root DNS/TLD records to yank their NS/A authoritative records.

Well piss off the bear and see what happens. Once Geohot was basically forced to settle the hackers were pretty much forced as well to make sure Sony knew that wasn't the end.

i'm able to get netflix to play on my ps3 even with psn down. but it would be nice if they fix this soon.
