What would you do?
Now that im reading alot bout sony vs geohot it got me thinking, what would you do if apple started to hunt down jb devs n jb users. I mean actually finding out the first creator of jb (dunno who it is since im pretty new to apple tech) n sueing them for what they did to apple products. And from there on hunting down every jb user n do whatever they want to their devices. Would u guys boycott apple products like some are doing to sony (which i highly doubt it cuz some of ur lives revolve around apple) or hav a different approach to this.

My personal opinion:
1) it would never happen. Apple constantly patches jb/unlock exploits with firmware updates. This alone shows they have no interest in suing the devs, they just keep patching.
2) figuratively speaking, if it ever did happen though, I would not boycott. The iPhone and all Apple products are amazing. Jailbreak or not I'd love my iPhone all the same. Sure its a better device jailbroken, but the jailbreak doesn't define it entirely. It is a great phone as it is.
3) in regards to all other Apple products, Macs are superior to PC's in my opinion in many ways. It would be much too difficult to give up great technology just bc Apple wants to sue people for jailbreaking iDevices.
Apple and Sony are in different leagues. Neither in more superior or inferior positions; Sony products are just easier to boycott. I can ditch a Sony DVD player or TV for a different but equally popular/great brand such as Samsung or Dell. But nothing comes close to Apple. IMO Apple is irreplaceable.

Sony is not as easy to boycott as you think. Unlike Apple, Sony products can be hard to distinquish. They have many items in other label products that are not known without looking at manufactoring. Example would be Blu-Ray discs. Sony gets royalties for that because they are the ones that developed it. Then you got Sony studios. So then you will miss out on some movies that that studio produces or helps with.

You make a valid point and I agree. I however do not own a single Sony product, nor use Sony produced software. I may be unaware but as far as I know, I am one person who doesn't buy into Sony. I own one pair of in-ear headphones by Sony bought years ago, and that's probably it. I still use DVD and not blue-ray. I suppose it differs for different people. Before this GeoHot incident, I still didnt have Sony products lol. Minus the Playstation 1&2, but even before this all happened I still chose the XBox. Meh, it's easier for me to say no to Sony. But maybe not for others.
