Ticked off at the cell phone industry!

I been on the cellphone game since they started appearing. I remember some of the best phones out there from nokia , Sony erricson, motorola, LG , hiptop (sidekicks), RIM, And the best part about them was a feature rich competition. Every 3 or so months they would come out with something new on a cellphone that had you like....damn I want that. Phones to PDA's and touch screen was always there back then.

Then comes apple with the iPhone and refines touchscreen. I have purchased every iPhone model to date. But what really grinds my gears is how I read or have people telling me "the iPhone killer is here", "this is waaay better then the iPhone"...uummmm.....no...and before you go off with "apple fanboy" let me stop you in your tracks. Apple has made something great and with each newer model comes speed and a slew of features backed by a great AppStore. Until something better actually comes then it's not a killer.

Enter HTC to the scene....big effing mistake. A friend of my brother comes today and says , hey..I just got the new HTC and it's better then the iPhone...ummm...no. HTC is the welfare (public assistance) of cellphones. Here is their business model: hey let's add a quad core processor , yea..and and some 15 mega pixel cameras yea yea I like that, oh and let's add 5 USB ports yea there gonna like that, ok ( so far so good right? That's a beast phone so far) ok now lets slap android (justed effed it up)
seriously...every phone company wants android on it's system now...why? What happened to improving your own system motorola?

Then you got people saying , oh but android is popular...no it's not. It's just everywhere like a disease..u can get a prepaid phone in walmart for 20 bucks with android...so people have no choice but to get what's affordable...before android there was snake on every phone...that was popular.

I'm not completely hating on android..but bring me something to the table to compete with it..don't give me a 4G monster with a 200HP engine and slap android and expect it to be cool just because of hardware specs alone...people who do that suffer later on. Examples: jaguar which was 64 bits. Panasonic 3DO with CD, windows vista, zune, Microsoft kin.....and soon , android. Give me something to compete with the iPhone and it better be real not just oh it's the killer and that's that.

Droid failed...galaxy failed, motorola zoom will fail...why? Because there is already so m any damn android tablets that it's not bringing nothing new to the table....no you might say, oh but apple hasn't brought anything new , just cameras and a faster processor...yea your so right...but it has no competition so it can do so. And they continue to bring new features with every major release of the Os....

This is the truth. The great part is everyone has their "4G" phones and they aren't even 4G! Technically, 4G is close to 100mbps, not the 4mbps you're getting.

I agree very much so. No fanboyism or fangirlism, it's just even though Apple can be a pain in the arse, the products are amazing. Not just in cell phones but in computers as well.

The whole Android isn't popular it's just everywhere like a disease thing, I love that, that's hilarious.

I give props to Android though but I haven't found any phone hardware that can match the iPhone. The OS isn't my favorite either. But it can come down to user preference as well.

I've never owned an Android but have played around with quite a few. I've had a Windows HTC HD2 and hated it (but we all know how Windows phones are...) and I've had a blackberry and didn't really like that. I just gave up on trying new phones and stuck to the iPhone since then. I'd still like to personally own an Android myself and see what it is like just for like a month, but I have yet to gather some spare cash to do that

I agree comletely ever messed with moto blur freaking rediculas also your right apple has redefined the cell phone. Something "magical" will have to come out to kick iPhone off it's high thrown.

I have never meet an android owner 100 percent happy with the phone.

I see so many people switch and switch back to iPhone. Android as a whole is not a solid system. Lots of bugs you have to download apps like task killer to even get it to run smooth right off the bat.

I think the best Android I have played around with is the EVO 4G but I noticed it "skips" and isn't as smooth in transition or gameplay as the iPhone. Is that true of all EVO 4G or just the one I was trying out?

I have a galaxy tab I play with. I like Android, it has a lot of good things about it. But iOS it is not. Also none of the Android phones are as sexy as the iPhone.

Maybe it's just me but I feel like Apple always releases products of the best quality that it can create. Sure the antenna issue was stupid but the phone as a whole isn't disappointing.

Like PC's and Android devices, I feel like companies just toss out anything they can whether it's top quality or poor quality, they'll do it. But Apple won't just throw anything out there just for the sake of sales and "affordability."

There are good Android devices out there, I just don't like the fact that there are also crap ones out there and people buy it bc they don't know any better and it was either free or under $100.

z3r01, it wouldn't even matter if a small company released the best phone in the world, Apple would simply drown it out with the mountain of money and marketing expertise they have, while passing off what little new features they add as the second coming of Christ.
