What was your first jailbreak related experience?
This thread is for anyone wishing to share their first experience with hacking/jailbreaking an iPhone/iPod Touch.
My first experience was back in the 1.0.2 days. I bought my first one unlocked, then 1.1 came out so of course I wanted to update. Back when this update that came out you could actually brick your iphone by updating if you had unlocked it (whole seczone thing that could screw up your IMEI). So I had to use a tool call the virginizer (which I believe was MuscleNerd's first jailbreak related tool) which was very nerve racking to say the least. It was pretty straightforward to do but nowhere near as easy as the tools that come out today. Once virginized I updated to 1.1 and used the first jailbreakme.com.
All in all, very fun times
Edit: Just thinking back I dont think I did use jailbreakme.com with 1.1. I think I used some command line jailbreak that installed installer, cant remember the name now though. I dont think I used jailbreakme.com until 1.1.1. Hard to remember exactly but you get the point

My first jailbreak was on 2.1 using pwnage tool. I bought the phone jailbroken and bricked it when I dud a restore because I had apps crashing like crazy. I got use to being jailbroken and did a search pulled up this site and the rest is history.

Got in late on 3.1.2 on 3gs. I remember just wanting to change my springboard wallpaper so I googled it and found out about winterboard. Searched AppStore but couldn't find it and did more research. Looked at info on black ra1n for like a week before I hit the infamous make it rain. Been golden ever since and have learned alot of stuff

2.2, I only did it for the guitar hero cover of Tap Tap, and I couldn't even get it to work. When I had Cydia, I was like "Wow, Installer sucks"

1.1.4 Tap Tap Revolution and gpSPhone. Good times. I love playing with my own music. Too bad, you can't anymore...

I can't remember which OS it was but it began with a 1.
Cried my eyes out that night as I thought I'd ruined my beloved iPhone (which in those days was a rare bird!). Used lots of tissues that night I can tell you until all became good again!
Actually "tissues" have been a BIG feature in lots of my "1st experiences" funnily enough!

I started back with 1.0.2 with the first iPhone. I forget what I used to jailbreak, but if I remember correctly, I really wanted to use iFuntastic, but wasnt it only Mac or something? I was using Windows until '09...

I think around 2.2. It was mainly the eye candy of themes that drew me in.. but then I soon became Jasmine and discovered a whole new world. Haven't left the magic carpet since. Obviously.

Honestly I jailbroke 1.0.1 while it was current. No idea how. I remember a bunch of scripting running on my screen and having to hit buttons at just the right time and 45 minutes of waiting to jailbreak....... something I got from hacint0sh.org with a youtube fix, activation, and something else.......ummmm......PAYCAY!

1.1.2 was my first Jb. I was such a n00b, I upgraded my bros iPhone, but he needed the unlock. So we spent like 5 hours researching and trying several different things, until we found how to downgrade the baseband. Ugh, 5 hours of pants crapping for 5 minutes of work lol.
And it will be like a taco inside a taco within a Taco Bell that's inside a KFC that's within a mall that's inside your dream! Springboard screwy after reboot? Here is the fix
