Making Cable bill cheaper

As I read the articles based on what was to come of APPLE TV I was stoked to see that this could bring the cable bill down as I feel this is the most over priced bill in the house (except for the ATT bill of course). My wife and I maybe watch 4 to 5 channels and thats all Tru-TV DIscovery, ESPN, Fox, Animal Planet. If we want to watch a movie we download a Netflix Movie from the old 360. Anyways I am disappointed with Apple TV as it seems a lot of people are ( due to the high hopes we had before it was released). I have had a few posts asking if anybody had any ideas of a nice setup for the living room to make the cable bill cheaper for when I return from the deployment. Any Ideas hit me up Pm me or post it on here. Thanks.

I have the PS3 with Netflix and Hulu+ and that takes care of a decent range of entertainment. I don't spend much time watching actual tv.

Laptop+Internet+VGA cable = free tv shows/movies on my big screen :P

I too do not watch much tv so this is sufficient for me.
