Never ever negotiate a payment, always deal with cost. Best to get your own financing for sure, as rates from one lender to the next could mean as much as 10% more.
Ask to see the dealer invoice, they have to show it to you, and do not believe them when they say their losing money, there is always dealer pack money in an invoice. So if you paying $100.00 over dealer invoice, it means there is at least $500 or more in pack profit.
If your trade has all kinds of after market wheels, tires, sounds etc., take them out and sell them, the dealer will never give you any more money for the trade whether they are there or not.
Be firm and don't get all caught up in a "New Car Deal" and forget to make a great deal for yourself.

I never say I have a trade until I negotiated the price of the car to invoice. Then I say " on second thought, I want to trade my car"

I have a '09 Jetta with only 10k miles (Just hit that like last weekend) on it. Really wanting to trade to the '11 Jetta because I think I may be in love with the new design.

Nice. From teh look of the wheels its a 1500. Nice if you dont tow anything big. We bought a Ford F350 diesel to pull our 8000 lb race trailer. Used to have a chevy 2500. Great truck but hills were a bi&^h with the trailer.

The only thing I tow with it is my Sport Nautique. My old truck had. 4.8L and a 4 speed tranny and it struggled. This one will be just fine. Hmmm lake trip this weekend!

Why are we showing pictures of old cars in a thread about a new truck anyway?
Nice ride dude! I never understand why they put blingy wheels on what is supposed to be a TRUCK, but it's nice.
There was a time when truck was a TRUCK. if you made it pretty it better be on the ground or in the sky. Anything else and you got yer azz kicked. No bling wheels on a "truck". Them were the old school rules.Screw #Winning, I'm #Juanning

"Why are we showing pictures of old cars in a thread about a new truck anyway?"
The same reason that someone posted a picture of a new truck on a forum about iPhones. It's his, he's proud of it and he wants to share it with other forum members.
