swapping sims in an unlocked iphone

im currently using an o2 PAYG sim - if i want to swap to my contract vodafone sim - do i have to go through the unlock proceedure again or is it just a straight swap?

when i swap and go, i always need to activate each sim!!

how can i stop this from happening?

Question: If I am with AT&T and I unlock my iPhone to use it with other sims , do i loose any functionality from AT&T when I do use the AT&T sim?

yeah, when i put in my vodafone sim i got the incorrect sim message, connect to itunes to activate ;-(
