    Default Formatting a cd

    hEY guys
    i wanna instal android on iphone
    so it says i need to install ubuntu.
    and for ubuntuu u need a blank disk.


    i dont have blank disk

    but i have a lot of disks

    so i try to format it and it says it is protected.

    so how do i format it even though its protected
    haha thx

    You can't. The only discs that can be wiped clean are CD-RW and that is only if they did not get write protected on the last burn.

    I think you can boot Ubuntu from a USB stick. I know Mandriva can be. Also you may look into running the iso from a virtual drive by using Daemontools. I'm not sure it would work if the system has to do a reboot during install.

    You will like Ubuntu. It is a great flavor of linux!

    i have tried the usb stick thing
    when i change boot order from bios it says

    boot error

    im trying to get a virtual machine useing virtualbox and then it says
    no bootable medium found

    I have never tried virtual box. Daemontools works for me. The free version is very sufficient.
