amd 6core or intel i7 920 4core

Hey ,I wanted to consult you about buying a new computer ,I know that you are into tech same thing about me except that I have little knowldege when it comes to computer components and their functionality , so here is the question :
I want to buy a new processor should I chose the intel i7 920 or the new amd 6 core ,both have the same price but intel 920 has only 4 cores ,which is better for gaming and high load of work , without lag .I want it super fast .thanks any information will help

if they are the same price, of course go for the better one. the AMD 6 core.

I would go for the i7. Most programs are not able to utilize 4 cores, let alone 6, anyway. A 2.4ghz i5 has no lag at all with COD4.

wich is way windows and many other OS's let you choose which programs use how many cores.
