Just built a new system for Windows 7

I've never built a computer, I've always wanted to an I plan on it when I get a little bit of money saved up. I do have a question on why
you used a 300 gb hdd instead of a solid state disk? I was under the impression those were faster and more reliable and that's what I was planning on using for the boot drive but like I said I haven't built one yet so I haven't done any research

In retrospect I probably should have spent the extra money on a SSD for my primary. $329 for a 128GB SSD.... so $100 more than I spent on the 10K RPM 300GB drive. That's nothing when you consider the total cost of the system.

I did some Futuremark tests last night. My CPU scores kicked butt... my video scores weren't that great b/c I'm running a slightly older card.. but since I don't do any PC gaming or video rendering I'm more than happy!

That sounds like a beast still, what will you use it most for?

Ah ok I understand now
My boot drive is a 500gb 7200 rpm. I have a secondary 500gb drive that all of my apps are installed onto.

4850 is the best card I've ever had. Almost 2 years old now and still handles everything like a champ.
