You must come from stubborn stock with a limited ability to view things from different perspectives. Especially since your insisting that the tenent is still at fault, even after you've had more than a handfull of people disagree with you.
Are you familiar with the term general consensus? It's a psychological term used to define the line between normal and crazy. That being said, you are crazy for not even considering what has been said here. You weren't seeking help here, you were seeking psychological validation for your own perspective on a situation.

lol, epic thread I love it.
imho it is completely your mother's fault. Keeping aerosols in the oven is absolutely retarded. I personally never check the oven for aerosols, dynamite, or other explosives before pre-heating. This includes not only my oven but the ovens of family and friends as well.

^ lol. I don't think I have ever checked inside the oven before preheating.

The aerosol cans were an exaggeration. She keeps other stuff in there which I know she shouldn't keep in there but I was kind of making a point of the stupid stuff that was kept in there. Anyway the guy left already in the time that I gave him to leave. He wants to go to small claims court but that will be a waste of time. He didn't sign a contract when he moved in and he paid in cash. I talked to my mom about the whole situation and recommended her to just rent out the whole house and have a Realtor take care of the paperwork and such.Android user suffering from iPhone withdraw.

i think its both of your faults, and you should just kick him out (as you have every right to) and keep 200 and give him the other 200.

No verbal agreement works in your favor. You never said he could rent out the place so he was just a guess. Give him his deposit back, chalk it up as a lesson, and learn from it

You should also check your dryer for cats before turning it on. Messy, very messy
