Why am I banned from IRC?

Ok, I am slightly annoyed but not enough to ruin my day in any way. I was apparently banned from the ModMyi IRC channel because I am an "idiot" for asking if anyone else has had their iPhone stuck in the endless boot cycle after a reset of the network settings. It appears to me that their are some strange politics in the IRC channel where there are about 20-30 usual members online who tend to gang up on anyone they do not recognize on the channel everyday. I personally used to frequent the IRC everyday for months, but do not have the time to anymore with my health and a business to run. But back to the point, I was banned because 2 of the "IRC Mods" decided I was an "outsider" and wasn't allowed to argue or disagree with any of them. I find this ridiculous. I personally believe that I am a valuable member of this forum and deserve the same respect on the IRC channel as I have earned here on the forums. If anyone has anything to pitch in, go ahead. This is really just a rant and my way of asking someone with REAL authority to lift the ban on myself. Thanks folks! MMi FTW!

PS- There are other users who have reported being in the endless boot cycle after resetting the network settings as well, I am not an idiot!

IDK.... I go in there under everything except my user id and have only been kicked once.

but seriously. IRC is very hostile. it is a different environment than forums in a big way. there are looser rules, more spammers and more unjust situations. It seems like people gang up on you sometimes, but the best way to handle it is to stay calm. The reason you where banned was because you started to get hot. Trust me; i have been in that same situation many times before and i know how it feels. its really annoying and it has ruined my day on multiple occasions

But off of the negatives. IRC is a great place to get information and to collaborate with other users. #modmyi might not necessarily be the best place for that, but it is still a good chat room hehe. So if you ever have any questions or something and i am there i can assure you that i wont treat you the same way (unless you spam or troll. then ill ICMP nuke your ***).

That's kinda funny that it's considered "hostile." The only reason why it would be, is if the folks that spend too much time there feel that their arbitrary knowledge of a cell phone is some how superior to yours or my understanding. It seems a little bit like arguing over a game of dungeons and dragons... There shouldn't really be a reason to care, but they've invested so much time in it that this arbitrary knowledge is all they have. And they will alpha-geek you to maintain their superior-geek status!
