need help with sms sound customizing

sort of new to this have used winscp have been able to understand how this is done but here is my problem and questions that go along with it.i checked to make sure my settings in my folder options is correct made sure that my folder inside the new folder "UISounds"is spelled right but cant figure out when i put the sounds folder into themes or change my sms that when i respring the sound i try to change is silent.i changed it to aiff encoder when put into itunes,but when i read some of the posts it says to right click and convert but i dont have that option.the source where i found my sounds was phonezoo.com i can save the sound to my pc but it wont work.where can i get free sounds where i dont have to jump a bunch of hoops just click save and thats it? i have ssh into my phone so i know that works but what am i doing wrong is it my source where i got my sound if so where do get these sounds please help and thank you in advance
