Need help with my new Wii

I bought a brand new Wii a few days ago and of course I'm already starting to Mod it. Its on firmware 4.0 and I have already gotten the homebrew channel on it with the bannerbomb hack. Now I can't get it to play DVD's. I have read endlessly about it and am getting conflicting information with methods between v3.4 and v4.0. I have tried running multiple programs without success. Can anyone with experience lend me a hand?
