Really random!!
I know this is really random but they dont have an off topic thing so I had to post this. And i have a lab due tomorrow.
Here is the problem: How can indicators be used to gain information regarding the pH of aqueous solutions?
I need a good conclusion on this one. If anyone will help I will love you forever. Thanks

Color change of a litmus paper can provide different results. One color for acidic, one color for basic, and stays the same color for a pH of 7 (neutral).
Chemical solutions can be used as well ie: phenolphthalein and thymolphthalein..
Bases turn litmus paper blue.
Acids turn litmus paper red.
Phenolphthalein turns a base red.
Phenolphthalein is clear in an acid.
Thymolphthalein turns an acid red.
Thymolphthalein is clear in a base.Last edited by Nemir; 04-23-2009 at 07:41 PM.
