The death of MMi
Is it me, or lately have posts been slacking more and more? I used to be able to post some in Chit-Chat, then mark all as old, come back in 3 hours, and there would be a whole page of new posts. Nowadays, it seems like I have to search more and more around the forums to find somewhere to post. I used to barely be able to keep up with just staying up to date in iPod Touch General and Jailbreak | Downgrade | Restore, and Chit Chat. Now I've actually started to move into iPhone General chat, and Appstore Apps to find new posts. I use the New posts button a lot, but most of them are just "Whats jailbreak" people, posting "Zomg! Wow great job!" on themes. Is it really just me, or what?

I know when I'm bored in class and go through here a few times it seems like there's never anything new.Respect your elders.

I've actually been posting way more that usual. Of course, I've started three or four threads in the last 2 weeks asking for technological help. Haha three of which bteamer posted in helping me.

Traffic has been up lately... maybe our info is better now.
Maybe people are FINALLY searching first.

Maybe it isn;t the fact that MMI is dying, but, rather, the fact that Apple isn;t really doing much that is getting people excited about the iphone. I am sure if/when they release a new model people will be posting nonstop again.

I once prayed to God for an iPhone, but quickly found out He didn't work that way...so I stole an iPhone and prayed for His forgiveness.

Chit Chat has been a little slow lately, but there is still a ton of activity here. With the lack of Apple products getting revamped and no expos to go to, there just isnt much going on. New iPhone, new Macs, New Unlock/Jailbreak will always make the site extremely active...

I agree to a point. I used to post a lot more but jailbreaking/unlocking has gotten so much simpler that people don't need a whole ton of help anymore. Remember when there were multiple ways to jb/unlock?

Back in the 1.1.2/1.1.3/1.1.4 days there was a little more activity due to multiple unlocking/jailbreaking methods wich caused MASS confusion. With only a single source for jailbreak/unlock (Dev Team) a lot of the posts are consolidated. With all that commotion out of the way what's left is themes.. app discussion.. and News.
@soulthoughts... I took like 10 mins to write this response and saw you pretty much wrote the same thing, haha. Oops.

yea, i think people are actually searching now....which in terms is a good thing, but i still would like more posts then just themes....maybe since its already easy to JB, we can find something else iPhone/Apple related that we can all socialize too, just a thought

You also have to consider that probably 80% of the people viewing this site never post anything

Just nab what they want and go
Example: Right now.......364 members and 2002 guests online.

You're right though, all the different methods did cause a lot of confusion, hence all the posts. I posted way more when we had all the different ways. For some reason, command line perplexes a lot of people.
Even theming has changed with WB. Now that we can use a 'heirarchy' method of theming, we don't have necessarily create custom themes using different icons and other parts.
Overall, things have almost gotten to the point where things are WYSIWYG. You don't have to know which file to change to a light colored carrier logo or a dark carrier logo (FSO or default?), MIM takes care of that. You don't have to edit a plist to rename an app, Rename does it for you. You don't even have to know how to SSH for the most part, DiskAid does the same thing only simpler.
The iPhone 'scene' has matured to the point where a lot of us early adopters aren't needed quite as much because of the above point. It's the nature of technology. We try to make things simpler so that everyone can do it w/out much user interaction.
Yet we still hang around here because we like to show off our phones to people who have 'regular' iPhones. (I just did that today!)
