Grand Theft Auto 4 for the PC. Anyone else got it?
So I bought GTA4 for the PC after hearing so much about the console versions. But oh my GOD is it bringing my computer to its knees.
So anyone with a supercomputer maxing this out and actually enjoying it while I'm stuck with a slug-fest?

im assuming it needs a good box to play on, here are the requirements it asks for i think:
* OS: Windows Vista - Service Pack 1 / XP - Service Pack 3
* Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8Ghz, AMD Athlon X2 64 2.4Ghz
* Memory: 1.5GB, 16GB Free Hard Drive Space
* Video Card: 256MB NVIDIA 7900 / 256MB ATI X1900
Recommended System Requirements
* OS: Windows Vista - Service Pack 1 / XP - Service Pack 3
* Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad 2.4Ghz, AMD Phenom X3 2.1Ghz
* Memory: 2 GB (Windows XP) 2.5 GB (Windows Vista)
* 18 GB Free Hard Drive Space
* Video Card: 512MB NVIDIA 8600 / 512MB ATI 3870
i was gonna buy it tomorrow but i already own it for ps3 and 360...reason is that i know it will get modded like the others to add custom things to it...but...lets see what happens.
is it running bad on your box?

Initially it was, but the new beta drivers made things surprisingly playable (both ATI and Nvidia have beta drivers that made the game much better). I can now play on default settings with max car density at 25-30-fps which is about as much as my computer will give me for this game, which I'm ok with. I don't need 60fps to enjoy the game. As long as it isn't a slideshow I can work with it.
And before anyone asks, I'm running a E8400 with ATI HD4850, 4-gigs of ram and Vista-64. My bottleneck is the CPU.
This game is WAY more dependent on CPU than GPU.
