Default Hard Drive Not Installed? Wth?

Ok so I added an extra hard drive I had laying around in an old computer to my newer desktop downstairs. After I finish this, I close everything up and tighten the screws. I hit the power button and Voila! My hard drive isn't installed apparently. I've set the jumper correctly and used the wire part marked "Master" on the Master and "Slave" on the older hdd. Do any of you have any suggestions on how to proceed? I've taken the slave drive out and it stills gives me the "Hard Drive is not installed" message. For some reason, on the BIOS it tells me that a hdd is installed as a "Secondary Master Drive". Shouldn't this say "Primary Master Drive"? That heading is blank.

Oh btw the old hdd is reformatted without a OS and the newer hdd has Windows XP Home on it.
