Takes Google "up to" 24 hours to remove an ad I believe. So... the request has been submitted, whether they get to it in time or not is out of my hands. By tomorrow the point will be moot.

    Hmm.. @one1,

You have an odd definition of "fluff" that you are working with here. I find your posts to be fluff and the other gentleman's to be right on.

The fact is, the For prop 8 folks are behaving like immature imbeciles here in California, and oddly enough, most of the money is coming from Utah.. Now there is a state with a high morale ground.. heh..

I happen to live in San Francisco with my Wife. Yes, I'm str8. And honestly the fact that prop8 made it to the ballot offends and saddens me. Why should I be treated any better being in a straight relationship than a couple of people who love each other deeply enough to want to wed?

To those people for prop8, how would you feel if the majority of people decided that something you felt was a human right, should be stripped from you? How would you feel if, for example, you were black or Japanese and were made to live in an internment camp? (You know that happened, right?) How would you feel if the government saw you as a terrorist because you were from Arab descent and locked you up on an island to be tortured for the rest of your life? (You know that is happening, right?) How would you feel if because of your religious upbringing you were put to death or stoned because you were raped? (You know that happens, right) ?

The thing is, if you ignore this type of political proposition, you are allowing the government to strip you of your rights and dignity. Now it is the Homosexual group, what group will it be next time?

Descent is what makes this country great, racism, sexism, agism, etc are things that we should strive to never do again to keep this country great.

i live in Australia and lots of people call Americans fat and dumb idiots
i dissagree with that comment and remind them Australia is the fattest country in the world and that not all Americans are dumb infact there some of the smartest people in the world (apart from there president) but this post is making me agree with them. you cant tell someone what to do its there life and they will live it the way they want too. if some one prefers men over women thats fine let them do that. they arnt effecting you in any way why should you care. how you like if if some one siad you cant have pizza because it makes you fat. why should they care about you its your life (body) and you can do what you want with it

Before I start I do not really care either way, if gays are allowed to marry then great, if not, great. I personally believe though that a marriage is between a man and a woman, the purpose of a marriage is to procreate and further the human race, and join a man and a woman's incomes to support the family they created, you cant really do that with *** couples. I believe they can have a union but i do not think it should be called a marriage, thats my opinion though, im not anti-*** or anti-homosexual marriage, either way it doesnt really matter to me

First, the concept of marriage began long before the church as you know it today. Not to mention the fact that there are many other religions than the one you continually reference. Some religions believe in only a single man and a single woman may be married. Some other religions such as the Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter Day Saints (Mormons, who are also the largest single sponsor of the Yes on Prop 8 campaign) believe in polygamy. In case you don't know (which I'm guessing you don't) polygamists allow one man to marry many women. There's a great family value.
Okay, I have to clear this up, since a lot of people still think this is true. And I don't want to get involved in the matter of Proposition 8, cuz I, myself, have friends that are *** or lesbian. So I'm just wanting to state this:
I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and it does NOT endorse or practice plural marriage (polygamy). In the past, yes, it did. But so did many prominent people of the Bible. Abraham being one of them.
Anyway, what I'm saying is that YES, there are some out there that still practice polygamy and claim to be members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or Mormons as many of you are familiar with, but they are not of the church. They belong to a separate group known as the FLDS (Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) or other off-shoots. Please read up on the differences before openly saying something that isn't true.

Marriage by gays is their way to legitimize themselves and make them feel less fruity and less of an outcast and less F'd up against mainstream America. That is the exact reason why it should NOT happen.
Dude, you're all mixed up man. People who are *** are not doing that to be "cool" or "special" or "different". In fact, some studies show that you can be born ***, but that is a highly controversial issue as well. However, please, besides the typical emo at high schools who think it's "COOL" to be bisexual, gays aren't doing it for the image, or what other people think.
Do you know all the **** they get for even admitting that they're ***?? Look at all the people who are *** and in the closet, because they fear what will happen if they admit they are ***. It's because they love someone or are attracted to the same sex. Not just to be 'special.'

    And 2nd off,
Gays do not want unions or to be married because they want to 'fit in' or be 'less of an outcast'. Marriage is not only just a religious ceremony, it's a legal bounding contract which gives a couple many advantages with insurance, etc, etc.
Think if you had a wife, and they were in the hospital under a coma in a vegetative state. Regardless of your stance on the issue, don't you feel you should have the choice along with her family to choice whether or not to pull the plug? A husband or wife in a heterosexual couple has that choice. Someone's *** partner does not.

Just saying man, you've got a lot of stuff to put in prospective with this issue. Things aren't only to 'fit in', much less fit in with bigoted people like you.

I wish that Prop 8 hadn't have passed but I think it will be overturned sometime in the near future. In fact, if you compare the literature with the Supreme Court rulings about Interracial Marriage in the past, it's almost the same. In 20-30 years we'll all look back and realize that this was the last step to true equality.

Letting any 2 people marry ftw!
