Best approach you can take, Chase.

Honestly I can't stand negative threads so I'm going to remove myself from this one. Negative people like to attract negative people to them and if you debate for "fun" you definitely live a negative lifestyle. I'm not into it, and don't care to be draw into it.

So, I'll bail. Nothing to be accomplished here anyway. This kind of stuff doesn't have an ending, ever.

LOL, you really aren't doing yourself any favors here man. If you are a moderator of a debate board, it must be for middle-schoolers. I asked you to provide valid points, evidence to support your arguments, and something aside from personal attacks. You apparently cannot do any such thing, further proving my point. Simply put, you are a hatemonger, and deserve no more of my time or effort. Anyone who reads this thread can see that you contribute nothing towards the discussion. This will be my last response to you unless you actually put forth a valid point. You say that my posts are fluff, but at least they have legitimate arguments as well as facts in support of them.

As to my satisfaction in the removal of a political ad that is both false and discriminatory, that is not an indication of a desire for censorship. Rather I wanted to show my appreciation that Poetic would be willing to get rid of a sponsor of his site who promotes discrimination against minority groups. I do not know or wish to speak for his beliefs, but the fact that he removed a political ad that was offensive speaks well of his character.

Anyway One1, enjoy the brief attention you have received from me. I know that is what you seek. You've gotten all you will get out of me unless you want to actually answer some of the points I have made with counterpoints.

And to those reading remember, Vote NO on 8 tomorrow if you live in California and believe in equal rights.

Back to the point, apparently the Yes on 8 ads are back... bummer.

*edit 9:18 11/4: Just saw your other post Poetic. Good to know. Thanks again for your consideration.

sorry to go against you one1 but im gonna have to agree with doerrfan.

a human is a human who cares who they marry. who are we to control someone's life and say who they can and cant marry. idk if your married but if you are then you must love your wife. what if someone came in and told you that you arnt allowed to marry her? its basically the same thing.

Takes Google "up to" 24 hours to remove an ad I believe. So... the request has been submitted, whether they get to it in time or not is out of my hands. By tomorrow the point will be moot.

Hmm.. @one1,

You have an odd definition of "fluff" that you are working with here. I find your posts to be fluff and the other gentleman's to be right on.

The fact is, the For prop 8 folks are behaving like immature imbeciles here in California, and oddly enough, most of the money is coming from Utah.. Now there is a state with a high morale ground.. heh..

I happen to live in San Francisco with my Wife. Yes, I'm str8. And honestly the fact that prop8 made it to the ballot offends and saddens me. Why should I be treated any better being in a straight relationship than a couple of people who love each other deeply enough to want to wed?

To those people for prop8, how would you feel if the majority of people decided that something you felt was a human right, should be stripped from you? How would you feel if, for example, you were black or Japanese and were made to live in an internment camp? (You know that happened, right?) How would you feel if the government saw you as a terrorist because you were from Arab descent and locked you up on an island to be tortured for the rest of your life? (You know that is happening, right?) How would you feel if because of your religious upbringing you were put to death or stoned because you were raped? (You know that happens, right) ?

The thing is, if you ignore this type of political proposition, you are allowing the government to strip you of your rights and dignity. Now it is the Homosexual group, what group will it be next time?

Descent is what makes this country great, racism, sexism, agism, etc are things that we should strive to never do again to keep this country great.

i live in Australia and lots of people call Americans fat and dumb idiots
i dissagree with that comment and remind them Australia is the fattest country in the world and that not all Americans are dumb infact there some of the smartest people in the world (apart from there president) but this post is making me agree with them. you cant tell someone what to do its there life and they will live it the way they want too. if some one prefers men over women thats fine let them do that. they arnt effecting you in any way why should you care. how you like if if some one siad you cant have pizza because it makes you fat. why should they care about you its your life (body) and you can do what you want with it

well if we're going to stop gays from getting married...why not stop straight couples, too?

Before I start I do not really care either way, if gays are allowed to marry then great, if not, great. I personally believe though that a marriage is between a man and a woman, the purpose of a marriage is to procreate and further the human race, and join a man and a woman's incomes to support the family they created, you cant really do that with *** couples. I believe they can have a union but i do not think it should be called a marriage, thats my opinion though, im not anti-*** or anti-homosexual marriage, either way it doesnt really matter to me

First, the concept of marriage began long before the church as you know it today. Not to mention the fact that there are many other religions than the one you continually reference. Some religions believe in only a single man and a single woman may be married. Some other religions such as the Church of Jesus Christ and the Latter Day Saints (Mormons, who are also the largest single sponsor of the Yes on Prop 8 campaign) believe in polygamy. In case you don't know (which I'm guessing you don't) polygamists allow one man to marry many women. There's a great family value.
Okay, I have to clear this up, since a lot of people still think this is true. And I don't want to get involved in the matter of Proposition 8, cuz I, myself, have friends that are *** or lesbian. So I'm just wanting to state this:
I'm a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and it does NOT endorse or practice plural marriage (polygamy). In the past, yes, it did. But so did many prominent people of the Bible. Abraham being one of them.
Anyway, what I'm saying is that YES, there are some out there that still practice polygamy and claim to be members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or Mormons as many of you are familiar with, but they are not of the church. They belong to a separate group known as the FLDS (Fundamentalist Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints) or other off-shoots. Please read up on the differences before openly saying something that isn't true.
